Is Salem Cold in October? Weather, Week by Week

Short answer: cool, not cold, until the last week. Early October in Salem runs highs in the low to mid 60s and lows in the upper 40s. By Halloween, highs are in the mid 50s and lows are around 40, and it can dip into the 30s on a clear night. It feels colder than the number near the water, in the wind, and after dark, which is where you will be for the ghost tours. Pack layers and you are fine.
