Through October we are publishing twice a week. Thursdays carry the weekend; this midweek edition covers Monday to Thursday, so the quieter nights do not get buried under Haunted Happenings. Here is Oct 5 to Oct 8, ending with the last farmers market of the year.

IF YOU DO ONE THING

Go to the last farmers market of the year.

Thursday is the final market of the 2026 season. It has run every Thursday at Derby Square since June 11, and after this one it is gone until next summer. Go late in the day, buy more than you planned, and say goodbye to the people you have been buying tomatoes from all year.

Thu, Oct 8 · 3 to 7 PM · Derby Square, off Front Street · Free

If you go, tell them you heard it from From Witch City.

The weekend picks back up fast. Lanterns in the Woods is Friday the 9th at 6:30, Salem High School. Saturday the 10th brings the Halloween Boat Parade and the Howl-o-ween Pet Parade at 10:30, both at Derby Wharf, plus the Salem Glass Pumpkin Patch on the Common from 11. All of that lands in Thursday’s issue.

The full calendar is at fromwitchcity.com/events, and Thursday’s issue covers the rest of this week.

ONE LAST THING

There is a seat at the next table.

Six strangers, one Salem restaurant, one long Tuesday night. The first table filled, so we are booking the next. Two minutes to sign up and we handle the rest.
