Saturday at eleven, Derby Wharf is going for a world record with witch hats and a drone. It costs nothing, it takes an hour, and you almost certainly already own the hat. Below is the whole week, Thursday October 15 through Thursday October 22, with times and links for every pick.

IF YOU DO ONE THING

Go stand on Derby Wharf in a witch hat.

Destination Salem is attempting a world record for the city's 400th: hundreds, maybe thousands of witch hats on the wharf, shot from above by a drone. One hour, no ticket, no skill, and it is the rare Haunted Happenings thing built for residents rather than ticket buyers. Stay afterward for the waterfront.

THE DINNER CLUB

We are on our third table and trying to fill a fourth.

Six people, one table, a good meal and real conversation. You take a short quiz, we match you with five compatible locals and pick the restaurant, and you find out where the morning of. After dinner every table meets up somewhere for a drink.

Every single person who has booked a seat so far gave the same reason for coming: they are looking for new friends.
